Our second event of the year is in the books, so check out some images of our The Mandalorian and Grogu screening you helped make happen!

This past weekend, we held our second event of the year and took a whole bunch of kiddos (from multiple organizations) to see The Mandalorian and Grogu on the big screen. They had an absolute blast, oohing and ahhing at all the right points, and got highly invested in the overall experience.

It’s hard to describe the excitement when they arrived and were given the concession gift cards. They weren’t expecting the opportunity to get snacks, let alone being able to pick out whatever they wanted. It’s a humbling moment and reminds us why we do this in general.

It was made even better when the manager at the Cinemark found out who we were/what we were doing and hooked our families up with some of the specialty popcorn buckets at no extra charge! It was a great turn out and we made a whole bunch of kids happy.

Now we need to look forward to the rest of the year. To be frank, we’re pretty far behind in fundraising from where we need to be. With only two more planned events (we’d love to do more if we get extra funds), we’re still not even to the halfway point of our initial goal.

Realistically, with less than a month to go before Supergirl arrives, if we don’t see a significant uptick in donations…that one may not happen at all.

I know, all too well, how tough it is right now. Costs are rising everywhere, for everyone. But that also means the families/kids we serve have even less of a chance to enjoy a night at the movies this year than before. So if you’re able to keep helping monetarily, we need it. Even if you can’t, sharing our campaign on your personal social networks, or even among your friends/coworkers goes a long way.
