After taking a break to re-structure ourselves and get some new plans laid out to help bring us into the future, ReelOutreach is ready to get back to work!

2025 has been a trying year, especially as we’ve worked to plan out some new strategies to take our little charity into the future (and hopefully become a BIG one). Even so, we’ve got some fun things lined up and are ready to get back to bringing the joy of movies to kids who need them.

First up, we’re making our return with a screening event for the all new Superman film. Considering the hero is all about bringing hope to the world, it seemed like a fitting choice for our comeback. Our fundraiser for this just went live, so be sure to head over to our fundraising page to learn more about that and show your support.

What’s Next?

Beyond getting the ball rolling with more screening events (our main purpose), we wanted to briefly talk about some of the things we have planned. Not everything is set in stone and more firm details will be forthcoming, but here’s a taste of what we have in store:

Hospital Screenings – One of our goals from the outset was to find a way to bring the joy of recent releases to those stuck in the hospital. We’re still working on this and hope to begin implementing it soon.

New Fundraisers – While we’re going back to GoFundMe to kick start our return, we have some fun ideas for new fundraising opportunities. These will include special event screenings for everyone, raffles/giveaways, and livestreams. We’re always looking for help in organizing these things, so if you’re interested be sure to hit us up HERE.

Podcast – In our efforts to expand our outreach and visibility, we’re tapping into our backgrounds as entertainment journalists. This may eventually include some form of reporting/reviews here on our site (if we see enough interest), but we’re also developing a new podcast where we’ll chat with filmmakers about the movies that influenced them as kids.

How You Can Help

As always, our work relies on the help of movie lovers like you. As we head into this new chapter of ReelOutreach, there are a few ways that you can help. Of course, the biggest way to financial support. You can hit up our current GoFundMe, or head to our Donation Page where you can use PayPal if you prefer.

If you’re looking to be more directly involved, we’re still very much looking for volunteers to help us with planning, social media, and more. Head to our Volunteer Page to see what we need and reach out to us.

Beyond those things, easily one of the BEST ways you can support us right now (and it’s entirely FREE) is talking about us. Sharing our fundraising page on your socials, even just sharing THIS article helps us far more than you know. As we’re still small, we’re constantly fighting against algorithms and the more shares we get, the more we can break through.

To that end, also make sure you’re following us across all our social media (Facebook and Bluesky are our main ones but we still have a Twitter presence). Not only does this help keep you informed of new updates (which you could then share), it helps boost our own visibility which makes more companies interested in working with us.

About

At ReelOutreach, our belief is everyone deserves a night (or day) at the movies and kids, who have no control over their circumstances, need it the most. Between the ever rising costs of tickets and concessions, the enjoyment of sitting down to enjoy a film is sadly out of reach for many.

Here, you’ll find all of our blog posts which will consist of news updates from our organization, announcements of upcoming events/fundraising, and more.
